Turnstone’s Push Paddle Pedal Challenge

About This Event

We'll be moving from June 1st - July 31st, 2024 and we want EVERYONE to be included!

Our challenge is for you to move 1,000 minutes which might sound like a lot, but at Turnstone, anything is possible. Moving just 15 minutes a day until July 31st will help you reach your goal while ensuring people in our community receive the services and support they need most.

Do what you find most enjoyable, walking the trails, pushing in a wheelchair around the block, pedaling on a bike, or paddling along the rivers or lakes. No matter how you choose to move, every minute you log is a win.

Your registration fee includes a Push Paddle Pedal 2024 t-shirt and any additional funds raised will benefit Turnstone's comprehensive programs and services for people with disabilities.

Jump on board as a sponsor, corporate team champion, or individual to help raise awareness and support for Turnstone clients.

What Moves You?

Daily exercise is one of the most important components of our physical and mental wellbeing. And, at Turnstone, we're on a mission to empower people of all abilities to achieve their highest potential - which includes making physical activity a priority.

Push Paddle Pedal FAQs:

It's simple! We're here to motivate you to get MOVING! Daily exercise is one of the most important components of our physical and mental well-being. And, at Turnstone, we're on a mission to empower people of all abilities to achieve their highest potential - which includes making physical activity a priority.

This summer, celebrate the ability to move your body in a way that works best for you with Turnstone as we strive to reach our movement goals!

Anyone can participate in Push Paddle Pedal. Age or ability is not a factor because you choose to move in the best way for YOU!

There are a few different ways to log your movement this summer:

1. Download the STRAVA app (create an account if you don't already have one). You can then link your STRAVA account with your OneCause registration page (set this up by going to manage my page -> complete activities -> push paddle or pedal on the OneCause site.) STRAVA syncs with most smartwatches (click here for instructions on syncing your Apple watch, Garmin, Fitbit & more!) Once you download the app to your phone (connect your smartwatch if you have one!) and sync to your OneCause registration page, your activities will automatically upload from your smartwatch or phone to your profile and track the minutes moved. All that's left is to start an activity through the app on your phone or watch and get movin'.

2. You have the option to manually add your exercise activities to your OneCause registration page. Set this up by going to manage my page -> complete activities -> push paddle or pedal -> add activity on the OneCause site.

3. If you're more into a pen-and-paper log, we've made a printable one here! You can email your log to [email protected] at the end of the challenge.

Your $25 registration fee includes a t-shirt with the rest of the proceeds benefitting the services that Turnstone provides for children and adults with disabilities.

If you're not interested in paying the $25 fee but still want to participate in the movement challenge, there is a free registration option. Select the "just fundraise" option during registration and once you raise $100 through your page, you'll receive the t-shirt!

Nope! BUT, if you feel like going the extra mile (pun intended) we would love it if you asked your network of family, friends, and co-workers to support you in reaching your movement goal while raising money for people with disabilities. We even made a simple fundraising toolkit you can download here!

If you are local to the Northeast Indiana area, we ask that you pick up your t-shirt from Turnstone. Our hours are M-Th 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Please come to the Plassman Athletic Center front desk (parking lot B) at the following address:

The Plassman Athletic Center at Turnstone
3320 N Clinton Street
Fort Wayne, IN 46805

If you live outside the Northeast Indiana area, your t-shirt will be mailed directly to you. Please give it a week or so to make it to the address provided at registration.

If for any reason you do not receive your t-shirt, please contact [email protected]

I look forward to Push, Paddle, Pedal, every single year. It's a great way to motivate myself to get active in new ways and establish a new routine all while giving back to an amazing organization. I have a group of long distance friends that participate year over year and it's been a great way to stay in touch while doing something good for ourselves and for the community!
